For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6
Christmas time is a time to remember Christ
our Savior; a time that should be full of joy and cheer. However, the holiday season can become very
stressful for many. We tend to turn our focus on the gift giving instead of
focusing on the Giver of all things – Jesus!
In John 3:16 we learn that God gave his only son so that whoever
believes in him would have eternal life.
In turn, Jesus gave us the gift of salvation with
his death on the cross. However this
Christmas, let us return our focus on the greatest gift given to mankind; Jesus
Christ our Lord! Let us celebrate the
gift of eternal life that is found only through him and let us remember the
sacrifice that made it possible!
“Father God, thank you for your son, Jesus
who came in the flesh, born in a manger to bring me salvation and eternal life!
Thank you, Jesus for your immense love for me that kept you on that cross. Thank
you for your resurrection and for preparing a place for me in your heavenly
Kingdom. This Christmas I celebrate the greatest gifts that I could ever
receive; forgiveness and salvation. You are my Wonderful Counselor, my Mighty
God, my Everlasting Father, my Prince of Peace! Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”
